The longer I stay awake, the more I walk,
The more I walk, the more my legs ache!
Desperately begging for me to stop,
But my racing thoughts won’t allow it.
Until I shut my eyes tight,
And enter the world of dreams.
Where midnight madness ends,
But nightmares begin to scream.
loved it esp the last line how you ended it .

This is SO relatable!
I had this terrible phase in my life starting from 2015 to now.. where I would stay awake and keep anxiously walking in my room but would refuse to sleep cause I was having terrible dreams, and I just couldn’t calm my self down enough to sleep..
I have learnt to calm my self now, but even now if I some times get those same dreams again, it puts me back in the same anxiety and obsessive walking and not sleeping kind of state for the next two three days..

Oh In sha Allah this phase ends soon. It is painful.
Calming my thoughts is the challenge , like a hard challenge.
For me I actually sleep , like I have to sleep. But if I am awake and my thoughts are awake. It can get really messy and both my legs and my head hurt.
It’s sad that even if you get to sleep…when you close your eyes and then..nightmares.You know what I do sometimes?
After a long tough day when I crash on bed and I know I will sleep within seconds, I make silently pray to Allah, Ya Allah please nice dreams.Alhamdulillah it works. (not always though)
If walking could calm my thoughts, I would be walking forever. Because there are so many wild thoughts in our head that need calming. And they are never ending plus powerful.

Yeah I pray too before sleeping for good dreams…
It’s gotten better.. usually when I’m exhausted I get dreamless sleep..
So that’s better for me I guess..
